Recommendation of Ibiza drinks to toast with local flavour

Recommendation of Ibiza drinks to toast with local flavour

Ibiza is not only savoured in its dishes, it is also enjoyed in every glass. The island has producers who have been able to bottle its essence through wines, liqueurs and spirits that are born from the land, the sea and tradition.

If you want to toast with authentic Pitiuso flavor, these are three essential recommendations.

Ibizkus: local wines with international projection

Since 2007, Ibizkus Wines has established itself as one of the leading wine producers on the island and its main exporter, as well as having the IGP Vino de Ibiza seal.

Their commitment is clear: wines from the land of Ibiza made mainly with local varieties such as Monastrell and Malvasia.

Ibizkus produces high-end rosé, red and white wines, with a production that has reached tens of thousands of bottles per year

Its wine cellar combines modernity and tradition, and its tasting room – with interior and terrace – is designed so that wine is the true protagonist.

In this "avant-garde" space, overlooking French oak barrels, visitors can enjoy pairings with local and national delicacies, creating a complete experience around wine

In addition, they have their own shop where you can buy their wines and special products to take a piece of Ibiza home.

More than 140 years distilling history at Familia Marí Mayans

If there is a name that is part of the liquid identity of Ibiza, it is Familia Marí Mayans. Founded in 1880 in Formentera, this company has been dedicated to the research of aromatic plants and the production of liqueurs of great flavour and quality for more than 140 years.

Their famous Hierbas Ibicencas (with the PGI Hierbas Ibicencas seal) are probably the most representative liqueur of the island, although the first spirit they produced was Frígola, made from thyme and orange and registered by the family for more than a century.

Today, under the management of the fifth generation, the family continues to distill products such as Palo, Absinthe and a line of IBZ Gin gins – including IBZ Premium Gin, IBZ 48 Premium Dry Gin and IBZ Pink Strawberry – that combine tradition and modernity.

Her original handwritten recipes remain the basis of each creation, always adapted to current tastes without losing their essence.

Herbs and artisanal spirit at Fluxà Ibiza

Founded by the Ibizan Juan Fluxà under the name of Destilería Ibiza, the company was born intending to promoting the richness of the most traditional products of the land and sea of the island.

Their star product is the Artisanal Herbs, made from 18 herbs that they grow in their own botanical garden. Also noteworthy are the Hierbas de la Abuela, which are differentiated by their prolonged maceration process. Added to this are liqueurs such as Almond, Fig or the delicious Café Caleta, which allows you to enjoy this traditional recipe without having to prepare it from scratch.

But Fluxà goes beyond liquor. From the salt collected in the Ses Salines Natural Park, they have created a gourmet line of flavoured salts and products such as sweet and chilli salt, combining Ibizan tradition with contemporary flavours.

Each of their proposals reflects their commitment to making their own on the island and to working with ingredients linked to the Ibizan landscape.

Toasting with Ibizan identity

Toasting with a local drink is much more than choosing a good wine or a good liquor; it is betting on history, the landscape and the work of generations that have been able to transform aromatic plants, grapes and salt into authentic sensory experiences.

Whether it's with some Hierbas Ibicencas, a glass of local wine or a gin with a Pitiuso seal, this year we encourage you to toast with local flavour.

Because in Ibiza, even drinks tell a story.
