December plans in Ibiza

During this month we can list an interesting variety of things to do, although the favorites tend to be those related to Christmas.

Las Dalias Christmas Market - Saturdays and Sundays from 3 to 30 December

Looking for a special and unusual gift? Then don't miss the well-known Las Dalias flea market.

During this month, as well as stalls where you can buy gifts, on the 10th and 24th there will be a culinary demonstration, and on the 17th there will be an Ibiza produce day.

This small village in the north of Ibiza hosts one of the most traditional wine festivals on the island.

At the event, wines made by different farmers will be tasted, all accompanied by bread with local sobrasada, which the attendees themselves grill on barbecues.

We can't think of a more Ibizan way to spend the day. Are you up for it?

Fira de Nadal - 17th and 18th December

Christmas in Ibiza is an important time, when we can not only share it with our loved ones, but also enjoy the products of the season.

Precisely for this reason, on the third weekend of December, you will find the Christmas fair at the Ibiza Fairgrounds.

A space dedicated to island crafts, as well as food and drink.

Don't miss it!

Gastronomic Heritage Menu starts in January

Although we are proud of our culinary tradition, we also appreciate flavors from abroad, often integrating them into our own cuisine.

Eating in Ibiza means being able to taste a wide variety of dishes from all over the world, and this is how the Gastronomic Heritage Menu was born.

From January to March, you can savour the gastronomy of other World Heritage countries or cities in different restaurants in the municipality of Ibiza.

Interesting... Isn't it?

An emotionally charged February

During this month, some of the residents' favorite activities take place.

Want to find out why?

Concurs mundial d'arròs de matances - 4th of February

traditional matanzas rice

This is one of the most eagerly awaited cooking competitions of the year, as it revolves around one of the Ibizan people's favorite dishes, which was eaten at dinner on the day of the pig slaughter, according to tradition.

This typical rice is prepared in different ways depending on the area and the house, so dedicating an event to it to discover different ways of eating it is always entertaining.

However, the basis is always the same: rice, pork, chicken, pebrassos (chanterelles) and spices, among which cinnamon is particularly noticeable.

This worldwide competition is held in the heart of Sant Antoni de Portmany.

Rock’n’Bars – 5th February

After the arròs de matances, you could go to Santa Eulària des Riu to enjoy the live music of this bar.

You'll find various bands playing in the center of the town, while its cafés, bars and restaurants offer pintxos or tastings, accompanied by beer, wine, water or soft drinks, all at promotional prices.

A weekend to lick your fingers!

Festa de l’Ametlla de Corona – February

Almond trees of Pla de Corona

Although the date is yet to be confirmed, a visit to Pla de Corona during the almond blossom is always an unforgettable sight.

It usually coincides with the festivities of Santa Agnés de Corona, so the area is full of life, but in a very relaxed and harmonious way.

A quiet plan, but one that will remain engraved in your memory.

The most delicious March

March is another of the most eagerly awaited months for the popular fairs that are held there.

Fira des Gerret - 4th March

This humble fish, treated elsewhere in the Mediterranean as a discard, is incredibly popular in Ibiza.

Its economical price and juicy flavor make it a real delicacy, enough to dedicate a whole day to it in Santa Eulària des Riu.

Enjoy various preparations, be it pickled, cebiche, grilled, fried, tempura...

We are sure you will love it!

Fira de la sèpia – 25 March

With the cuttlefish season on our coasts, comes this fair, specifically designed to enjoy a wide variety of tapas made with the freshest product.

Come to Sant Joan de Labritja to discover it!

Pintxa - from 27 March to 14 April

Pintxa tapas in Sant Antoni

In this case, you'll have the chance to try a whole snack bar in Sant Antoni de Portmany.

The event is held every Thursday in various restaurants and bars in the town.
