Which Food Festivals Are Still to Come in Ibiza?

Ibiza isn’t just sun, coves and endless sunsets. It’s also tradition, local produce and soulful cuisine.

Every autumn and winter, the island comes alive with gastronomic festivals that pay tribute to its rural and maritime heritage, seasonal ingredients and the most authentic island recipes.

Want to know which events are still to come? Here’s a roundup.

Upcoming Food Festivals in Ibiza

Fira Gastronòmica des Calamar – October – Sant Carles de Peralta

feria del calamar d eivissa

As squid fishing season begins, this flavourful cephalopod takes centre stage in one of the island’s most anticipated autumn events.

Held in Sant Carles, the festival brings together local chefs, restaurants and visitors to showcase their creativity. From traditional recipes to modern twists, squid is the undisputed star in countless delicious forms.

Fira de la Sal – October – Sant Jordi de ses Salines

Few things represent Ibiza’s history as well as sea salt.

This festival takes place every October in the Parc Natural de Ses Salines, with a programme that brings together gastronomy, history and environmental culture.

Its star dish is the traditional “ossos amb col” (pork bones with cabbage), served on the opening day. On Sunday, the event becomes a journey into the past with a recreation of traditional manual salt harvesting, just as it was done until the 1960s.

Fira des Polp i la Patata Vermella d’Eivissa – November – Sant Miquel de Balansat

In November, the village of Sant Miquel hosts a festival dedicated to octopus and Ibiza’s native red potato, the key ingredients of the island’s iconic frita de polp (octopus stir-fry).

The town centre comes alive with food stalls, music and a festive vibe, while the local festival committee prepares its version of frita de polp in the village square.

It’s the perfect time to enjoy both traditional dishes and modern interpretations by local chefs.

Fira de sa Matança – December – Sant Llorenç de Balàfia

The pig slaughter has long been one of the most important events on Ibiza’s rural calendar.

This fair, held in the charming village of Sant Llorenç, celebrates this age-old tradition with tastings of sobrasada, frita de porc (fried pork) and other pork-based recipes made by local groups.

It’s a day filled with music, traditional food and a warm, community feel.

Dishes You Shouldn’t Miss This Autumn–Winter

In addition to the festivals, there are some dishes that become must-haves during Ibiza’s cooler months:

  • Frita de polp: a rich, hearty stir-fry made with octopus, red potatoes, peppers and garlic.
  • Arròs de matances: a brothy rice dish made with pork, sobrasada and spices, typical during slaughter season.
  • Sofrit pagès: a traditional stew made with lamb, chicken, sausages and potatoes.
  • Bullit de peix: traditionally eaten in summer, this fish and rice dish is warming and perfect all year round.
  • Greixonera: the ultimate winter dessert in Ibiza, made with leftover ensaïmadas, milk, eggs and cinnamon.

Savour the Island’s Flavours Beyond the Summer

Ibiza’s food festivals are a perfect opportunity to reconnect with its rural roots, meet local producers and taste dishes you won’t find in tourist restaurants.

Whether surrounded by olive trees, in the heart of a small village or right by the sea, every fair is a true celebration of Ibiza’s flavours and soul.
